Okay, this is too cool. I have to post about it. I just saw the trailer for the game RUSE from Ubisoft (a developer that I LOVE, especially after playing Prince of Persia today). It’s a real time strategy game, so it’s part of a genre that I’m particularly fond of. It’s just like any other war game simulator, but with a twist that puts a whole new level of thinking into the game. At the beginning of the game you’re dealt a hand of cards. Each one of these cards contains a different kind of deception that you can use in your strategy, whether it’s fake tanks or a way to fool your opponent into thinking it will be a land battle but instead turning it around into an aerial assault. Sound interesting to you? Then check out this trailer:

I wish so badly that the game could be played on a tabletop, like the Microsoft surface. It would add a personal touch that would be incredible. It would truly seem like you were a general in a war room playing war games. Or it would be the next generation of chess. Anyway, they’re planning on releasing the game on the PC, the PS3, and the XBox 360. I can’t wait.

If you want to read more about the game you can take a look at this Kotaku article.

So Apple had their keynote about the new iPhone 3.0 OS a week ago. Pretty exciting stuff, with cut and paste, app store within apps, and Spotlight on the phone. I’d have to say that Spotlight is the feature I’m looking forward to the most. One improvement that I was really hoping to see was the ability to organize apps from within iTunes. This doesn’t seem like it would be that difficult of a feature to implement and it would make my Touch a lot more manageable! The way we’re forced to sort apps right now is just too difficult and tedious. I’ve given up on organizing my device currently.

So let’s hear it from the readers: What’s your favorite addition in the 3.0 beta? Are there any features that you were looking forward to that didn’t make the cut?

For more information check out Gizmodo.

Also, if you’re looking to get in on the beta but don’t want to be forced to pay forced to pay for the developer’s program, check out SingleGrain.com. These cool guys are giving out 50 betas of the 3.0 OS in a couple of days, and you could get in on it too!

Later folks,

Tyler
